FOR THE PURPOSES OF A VILLAGE HALL FOR THE USE OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE PARISH OF WRESSLE IN THE COUNTY OF YORK WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF POLITICAL RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS INCLUDING USE FOR MEETINGS LECTURES AND CLASSES AND FOR OTHER FORMS OF RECREATION AND LEISURE-TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE SAID INHABITANTS.
The charity is unincorporated which means any liability for actions and financial issues are the responsibility of the Trustees
The charity wishes to enter into a contract aid liability for this contract would fall to the Trustees
RESOLUTION 1
The Trustees wish to convert the charity to a Charitable Incorporated Trust which would mean any liability would fall onto the charity not the Trustees. The Trustees have considered the pros and cons of the proposed switch and see the benefits. The charitable objects would stay the same and the running of the charity would effectively be unchanged
It is proposed that as Wressle Parish Council effectively runs the charity then the new name should reflect this and the new charity should be called The Village Hall of Wressle managed by Wressle PC and the Trustees should be the nine Parish Councillors and when a Parish Councillor is replaced then the new Parish Councillor should take the place of the old Parish Councillor
The current Trustees would be, Helen Blacker, Jane Breach, Tom Davies, Rob Falkingham, David Hunt, Guy Longbottom, Coleen Millward, Dan Sweeting with
one current vacancy The Parish Clerk will remain the contact for the charity
RESOLUTION 2
The current charity Trustees and Parish Councillors who will form the new Charitable Incorporated Organisation’s trustees wish to adopt the Charity Commission’s model Constitution
This constitution was sent to Parish Councillors on 5/5/2025 and Parish Councillors will discuss this and resolve to adopt it
